Our coffee and its preparation
We work closely with smallholder farmers and plantations in Honduras, Brazil, India, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Each origin offers unique flavour profiles shaped by its altitude, climate and processing methods.
We follow a regional sourcing philosophy focused on Central and South America, ensuring fair prices and delivering the highest quality coffee in the long term. Our carefully selected beans are roasted with precision at our roastery in Bern, where we unlock the true potential of each coffee.
Education is at the heart of what we do. We believe in showcasing the complexity of coffee, helping people discover its true potential, and teaching what coffee is really about. Our commitment is to educate and honor the specialty coffee market so that every cup tells a story of craftsmanship, fairness, and passion.
Sustainability is at the heart of Kaphiy. We value:

We offer roasts that are tailored to the respective brewing method:
- Filter roasts – Emphasize clarity and complexity, ideal for V60, Chemex, AeroPress and batch brewing.
- Espresso roasts – Balanced and structured, perfect for espresso machines, moka pots and milk-based beverages.
We recommend getting two subscriptions - one for filter and one for espresso. Depending on your taste and current coffee selection, you can also use espresso for filter brewing and vice versa. It's all about experimenting and finding out what you like best!
To preserve freshness, we recommend:
- Store the coffee in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Use an airtight container, such as the Fellow Atmos Vacuum Canister , to protect it from light, heat and moisture (avoid the refrigerator or freezer).
- Grind the coffee freshly just before brewing to achieve the best aroma.
At Kaphiy, we maintain personal relationships with our coffee suppliers. We regularly visit their farms in Central and South America, as well as regions such as Ethiopia, Kenya, India, and Indonesia. These close connections are essential to us, as they allow us to truly understand the challenges faced by farmers. In return, we share the final product with them.

Specialty coffee refers to coffee that meets the high standards of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). The Q-Grading system evaluates both defects and the sensory qualities of the coffee. To be classified as "specialty coffee," it must score more than 80 points.

We recommend enjoying coffee within two months of the roast date. While coffee loses intensity over time, our bags generally allow for storage of up to 12 months. We do everything to ensure that our coffee is always freshly roasted and reaches you quickly. Additionally, we recommend purchasing high-quality coffee more frequently and ordering only the amount you need. With our coffee subscription, you can easily manage your coffee supply, as we deliver fresh coffee to you regularly.
Once opened, we recommend consuming whole beans within two weeks. However, ground coffee should be used even faster—ideally within a week!
Proper storage is essential! Oxygen, moisture, and light are the biggest enemies of fresh coffee and its aroma. Store your coffee in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Please do not store coffee in the refrigerator, as temperature fluctuations can cause condensation.

Currently, the Kaphiy subscription is only available in Switzerland. However, you can order and have our regular coffee bags and merchandise delivered internationally. See our shipping page for more information.
Initiate a Return:service@kaphiy.ch) with a clear statement (e.g., letter or email) before the 14-day return period expires.
After receiving confirmation, send the product back within 14 days to the address provided in our response.
Once we receive the returned item, we will process a full refund, including the original shipping costs. Please note that return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
We currently only ship within Switzerland.

Coffee Subscriptions
Our Kaphiy subscription delivers freshly roasted coffee directly to your home – at the frequency you want. You can customize your subscription:
- Coffee selection – Choose between single-origin coffees or blends.
- Roast profile – Choose between filter or espresso roast.
- Delivery interval – Every two weeks or monthly.
Yes, if you created a login at the time of your subscription, you can directly make the following adjustments: a) Change your address b) Pause your subscription c) Reactivate your subscription d) Cancel your subscription
After logging in, click on your underlined email address above. This will take you to your address details, which you can update.
You can pause your subscription indefinitely. Make sure to manually reactivate your subscription when you return to receive fresh beans for the next delivery.

Absolutely! Kaphiy believes in personalizing your coffee experience. You only commit to the first delivery. After that, it's up to you to change the type of coffee or the frequency of your shipments at any time. You can easily pause or cancel your subscription to ensure your coffee journey fits your lifestyle.
