The Kaphiy Story
Crafting with Passion
Nicolas Fischer’s passion for coffee began on a coffee farm in Ecuador, where he grew up immersed in the rhythms of nature and the coffee culture. Born to Swiss parents, his childhood was filled with the sights, smells, and stories of coffee, sparking a lifelong love for the craft.
Nine years ago, Nicolas moved to Switzerland to study at the École Hôtelière de Lausanne, driven by the dream of becoming a leader in specialty coffee. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to start a small coffee community in his garage, which grew from intimate pop-ups to a space for workshops, experiments, and endless cups of coffee, laying the foundation for what would eventually become something much bigger.
Our sourcing philosophy focuses on high-quality single-origin specialty coffees from Latin and Central America, ensuring quality while reducing our ecological footprint. Through the Kaphiy Academy and our partnership with the École Hôtelière, we promote a more conscious and informed approach to specialty coffee, contributing to a shift in coffee consumption.
